Re: Apology

To whom it may concern at Wal - Mart;

I wish to apologize to you and Wal-Mart Stores Incorporated for costing an outlay of cash because of a lawsuit that I filed for injuries that happened in your Wal-Mart Store in Lincoln, Nebraska, on July 03, 1997.

Even though there was a Wal-Mart employee that saw the accident happen and a supervisor that stated that she was told about the accident and that she had maintenance check out the electric ride in cart and found that the steering was loose and the throttle was sticking and she also stated that there had been several accidents associated with the same side rack, including her own injury. Your store manager also acknowledged that the accident did happen and authorized medical attention for my injuries.

So I underwent medical care from an Orthopedic Specialist and one month of physical therapy for the injuries to my right knee. I have been back to the Orthopedic Specialist numerous times and will need to return many more times because I will always have problems with my right knee for the rest of my life.

It has been over three years and six months since my accident in your store and I still have trouble with my right knee buckling and popping back on me causing me to fall or twist and injure my left knee and back.

Even though the main office later refused to pay for any and all medical bills, causing me to pay them myself, I still wish to apologize for costing the Wal-Mart Stores Incorporated an outlay of cash because the corporate office had to hire some high priced attorneys to keep from paying out for injuries that occurred in the Wal-Mart Store in Lincoln, Nebraska..

I also would like to apologize for believing all of the stories and hype that has been written about the Wal-Mart Stores and how all of the Stores take their role as a corporate citizen seriously and that customers safety and well being come first with Wal-Mart. I now know that with Wal-Mart the bottom line is and has always been the almighty dollar and all of the rhetoric spouted by Mr. Sam Walton was just a ploy to get the customers coming in and spending their hard earned cash.

Sincerely,

Thomas L. Townsend Jr.
